Summer ESL Teaching Opportunity-- Young Learners

Well-established, reputable downtown language school seeks dynamic EFL/ESL instructors to teach in our Young Learners Program in Riverdale. Positions will be for 1 -- 3 weeks, from July 16 to August 3, 2012. This is a great opportunity for education majors or teachers who want to gain experience in an energetic, supportive environment.

All applicants must:
Be US citizens or authorized to work in the US.
Have completed a minimum of 2 years of college or university. BA preferred. Minimum 6 months teaching experience preferred. CELTA/MATESOL strongly preferred.
Enjoy working with adolescents and feel comfortable teaching teenagers from Italy.
Have a dynamic presence and be able to motivate and engage students.

Classes are held every morning from 9:00am to 12:15pm, Monday through Friday. Classes are limited to 15 students and include 15 contact hours of teaching weekly.
In addition to minor prep and teaching, responsibilities include attending a training session prior to the start of the program; helping with academic placement of students; attending staff/progress meetings as and when required; behaving in a professional manner at all times; completing class registers and taking daily attendance; assisting with the completion of course certificates and attending award ceremonies; being responsible for classroom and materials; reporting student absences or sickness to the Center Director; notifying the Center Director or Teaching Manager of any persistent misbehavior; helping to ensure that all aspects of the program run smoothly and efficiently.

Compensation
$360 - $400 per week based on educational background and experience.
