Battery Park City Parks Conservancy (BPCPC) a not-for-profit organization, dedicated to the management of the parks within Battery Park City in lower Manhattan, has an immediate part-time opening for an Accounting Intern/Clerk.
The Accounting Intern/Clerk will perform job functions in the areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable and provide administrative support for the Accounting team.
Summary of Job Functions:
* Maintain and update accounts receivable and cash receipt schedules
* Enter cash receipts data into the Accounting System
* Audit invoices for supporting documentations, mathematical accuracy and resolve discrepancies
* Maintain files, organize and collate documents and transport documents to offsite locations
* Assist in entering vendor invoices and check requests into Accounting System
* Assist in the preparation of various accounting schedules
Qualifications:
* Pursuing a Degree in Accounting or Finance
* Successful completion of accounting/bookkeeping course work
* Relevant experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/accounts receivable
* Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
* Proficient in computerized accounting systems, Microsoft Excel and Word
