INTERNSHIP

INTERNSHIP

Boutique Private Art Dealer located on Madison Avenue at the epicenter of the Secondary Art Market is seeking highly motivated interns available immediately.

Unique opportunity to learn from a dealer with over 20 years of experience acquiring 19th and 20th Century American and European artwork spanning a wide range of styles and movements. In addition, we are working with several emerging contemporary artists, so you will be able to acquire a breadth of experience during your internship.

We are looking for interns to work a minimum of two days a week with a very flexible schedule. We are happy to offer school credit to Undergraduate and Graduate students. After completing your internship we are willing to provide letters of recommendation and act as a reference when you apply for future opportunities at Art Galleries, Auction Houses or Graduate Schools. Please note that this is an unpaid internship for a period of 3-6 months or longer.

Interns must be self-motivated, reliable, organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to work on your own. Excellent research and writing skills are a prerequisite for this internship. You must have your own laptop computer since some of the research will involve visiting the New York Public Library Art Research Room and occasionally the libraries of New York City's museums.

The majority of interns will be Art History, Fine Arts and Studio Arts Majors since you have already determined that you are interested in pursuing your love of art as a career choice. These backgrounds are ideal since your learning curve will be accelerated. Also, we would encourage anyone who has strong research and writing skills to apply. The art world is filled with motivated career changers, so chase your dreams regardless of your Undergraduate and Graduate studies. The most important characteristic of a successful intern is that you have a passion for art.
