Interns for Socially Aware Design Company (Brooklyn/Manhattan)

If you have an interest in fair trade, sustainable design, contributing to a company that is making a difference and the opportunity to work with an experienced textile and product designer in the process of launching of an exciting new venture, then we are interested in meeting you. Currently we are searching for (2) interns. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Intern #1 PR/Sales Marketing
-social media updating and maintenance
-in depth research of relevant online sites, blogs, events, shops and magazines
-contact online sites, blogs, shops and magazines
-sales prospecting
-excellent writing skills for business and social media
-knowledge or interest in email marketing

**Based upon reading the complete website, please submit (2) writing samples. In the first sample you will explain why you would like to be part of our mission and how you feel you can contribute. In the second sample, you will include a brief Facebook or Twitter post promoting the business. www.danicacosic.com

Intern #2 Graphic Design
-knowledge of graphics programs (Photoshop Illustrator)
-assist in creating collages, postcards, sale announcements
-update website images
-implement systems and create templates for press releases, press kit
-trade show marketing material

Qualifications Expectations:
-interest in fair trade and social responsibility
-commitment of 10-15 hours per week
-passionate, inspired and energetic
-willing to take an active role; ability to work independently as well as with others
-strong desire to learn and contribute socially
-excellent research skills
-strong writing and communication skills; will need to submit work and writing samples
-proficient with computers; access to internet

Compensation:
-unpaid internship but compensation in product will be considered based on output and # of hours worked
-mentorship with a seasoned textile/product designer/entrepreneur
