Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the Controller will be responsible for all financial reporting and analysis functions for $ 17- $ 20 million "light" manufacturing 501(c)3 non-profit
company located in Brooklyn. Candidates must have multi-year successful experience in domestic manufacturing and cost accounting to be considered. Controller will supervise Accounting Manager and Payroll Clerk. Current Controller will be retiring when replacement is found.
This is a "hands-on" position, where Controller must personally handle development of annual budgets, monthly closing and reporting of financial results and variances against budget, bank relationships, bank statement reconciliations, cash flow management, development and analysis of general ledger, product costing and pricing, inventory control, management of company
insurance and pension plans, and working with outside auditors for development of annual audited financial statements and 990s. Controller will supervise Accounting Manager and Payroll Clerk who are responsible for A/R, A/P and Payroll (ADP system), as well as one or two small Operational departments.
Positive "chemistry" with other Senior staff members, middle management and Board members critical in selection process and future success.
Superior computer, writing and overall communication skills required. The ideal candidate is creative, enthusiastic, ethical, professional, adaptable, confident, a good teacher and leader, and can gain respect of associates at all levels.
