Administrative Assistant/Legal Secretary (Midtown)

The New York City office of Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking an Administrative Assistant/Legal Secretary (3-5 years of transactional experience) with a high level of professionalism and responsiveness to join its finance-focused practice. The Partners seek a bright, hard-working candidate with excellent communication skills and a commitment to excellent client service. Specifically, the candidates must be able to interact with coworkers and clients in a professional, approachable manner, be independently motivated and embrace ownership of all day-to-day responsibilities.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, providing direct support for attorneys (including word processing requirements, email, answering phones, scheduling, photocopying, etc.); typing, revising and correcting a variety of correspondence, legal documents and memoranda; entering attorney time and processing bills; receiving clients and visitors and other duties as assigned. Also important are the abilities to prioritize effectively, juggle multiple deadlines and handle confidential and sensitive information.

A High School diploma or its equivalent is required, as well as 3-5 years of relevant experience; prior law firm experience is highly advantageous. Strong computer skills, attention to detail, team player; must possess the ability to understand sophisticated business transactions and official regulations. Candidate must be flexible for overtime.
