Our tech startup is a recognized leader in advanced mobile commerce applications. We are now in the midst of rapid growth and have the need to add new team members to handle the rapid adoption and expansion of our applications for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Mobile platforms.

We are looking for a creative, innovative and talented graphic and user interface designer to work in our Chelsea location. The candidate's primary responsibility will be in the web and mobile application design. This is a Contract to Hire position that will be located in the CHELSEA area of NYC. This is not a remote position.

Skill Sets

Strong creative UI experience a must. A passion and focus for functionality and the user experience.
Flexible and adaptable with the ability to communicate effectively with the development team.
Ability to synthesize complex requirements and to generate design concepts, including color theory, typography, composition, etc.
Innovative design approach to navigation, search, notification social media.
Organized multi-tasker comfortable with juggling changing priorities.
Experience in implementing different user interfaces on a native mobile app vs. a desktop website vs. a mobile web app

Tools
High degree of proficiency with prototyping tools, such as Fireworks, Photoshop, Visio, Flash, Flex.
Experience / familiarity with XML, HTML, HTML5, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, Action Script, AJAX, jQuery highly desired.
Proficiency in industry-standard UI software, such as Visio, Illustrator, PowerPoint and Acrobat.
Experience and/or interest in working with mobile payment technologies and/or financial websites a ++.
