Manhattan based media company seeks a monthly visit from a freelance MYOB bookkeeper.
What you'll be expected to do:
Utilize 2.5 full time office workers who perform back up accounting function and mechanical functionality (primarily recording invoices and incoming checks)
Recording and paying client and vendor invoices
Manage AR balance and issue invoices
Properly record all business expenses such as credit card, payroll and employee expense reports
Reconcile banking and credit card accounts (on a monthly basis)
Preparation of Monthly and Quarterly Reports and Financial Statements as requested by our publisher
Deposit checks and other common responsibilities of bookkeeper/controller
Some HR tasks, including facilitation of bi-weekly payroll, 401K and insurance
Must have superior knowledge of MYOB, Microsoft Excel
Since you will be relying on the work of our full-time office workers you need to be prepared to review our process and direct our employees to maximize your time.
This is a great freelance gig with a well-established, award-winning media company.
The ideal candidate will have a number of similar freelance jobs. Your cover letter must display an understanding of how such a role might work and your resume should also display a great set of skills, among them interpersonal skills and integrity.
We require a thorough background check in addition to at least 5 references.
We do not pay retainer fees and the wage is based on an hourly or monthly agreement.
This position reports directly to the Publisher.
