We were established in 2007 and are organized as a sponsored non-profit. We are excited to announce immediate openings for special intern opportunities as described below.Interns will get the opportunity to work directly with Salon Ciel's producers and artists, including our 2012 film festival known as "Take Two." You will meet people established in the art world, such as gallery owners, curators, art historians, and art media writers. The time requirements are five hours a month for organizational matters as well as working at the monthly salons.
These are unpaid positions but can be done for school credit if desired. Also, artists are welcomed to participate in a solo or group show with their own portfolio. If curating is an interest, we will seek to pair you with an upcoming show. Also, you will be given direct credits in our promotional materials associated with shows, as well as a biography on our website.
We seek interns with art/video experience through education or on the business side, such as gallery/museum work. You must reside in the NYC area. We unfortunately do not believe these positions can be fullfilled from other areas.
1) Assistant to the Producer: work closely with a salon producer in studio visits, planning and curating shows in 2012, public relations for shows and other similar preparatory matters for salons of the film festival. This position has a stipend.
2) Team Members for the "Take Two," the Second Independent Filmmakers Film and Video Festival. This will be hosted for three evenings in November, 2012, at the Historical Theater 80. You can choose to be involved in one or more of the specific tasks are:
-Coordinate film festival
-organize night of the event November 2,3,4 2012
-review and catalogue submitted film
-be in direct contact with fillmmakers
-obtain festival sponsors
