Job Description
We are presently searching for an equity research associate to support its senior analyst covering Medical Device / Technology companies. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication and quantitative skills, a keen interest in healthcare, the ability to multitask, outstanding time management skills, and a passion for conducting and communicating unique, groundbreaking, and thought provoking research.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare company and industry research reports under direction of senior analyst
- Create and maintain financial and industry models
- Review company filings and trade publications for covered companies
- Perform due diligence with industry sources
- Respond to requests for information from institutional sales force
- Present to institutional sales force in absence of senior analyst
- Communicate investment ideas to buyside investment clients, including mutual funds and hedge funds
- Maintain and update external presentation documents
- Assist with organizing industry events, including conferences and investor field trips
Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree along with outstanding academic achievement
- Exceptional writing and quantitative modeling skills
- Familiarity with financial and accounting concepts
- Broad understanding of Healthcare / Medical Device industries
- Strong interest in and knowledge of capital markets
- Strong financial writing skills
- Detail-oriented and tireless in pursuit of excellence
- Ability to work in a high pressure, time sensitive environment
- Verbal communication and presentation confidence
- Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Skills Not Required but Helpful:
- 1 to 2 years of equity research experience, preferably in Healthcare (ideally in Medical Devices)
- Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 registered
- MBA or advanced degree
- Prior experience in the Medical Device sector (consulting, investment banking, research, investment advisory, operations, etc.)
- Understanding of the major markets and players within the orthopedic, neurologic, and hospital supply subsectors.
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg and FactSet
