CompareTopSchools.com, a leading higher education portal, is seeking an individual interested in working 30 hours a week from our office in Hoboken, NJ as a customer service representative/academic advisor. This member of the CompareTopSchools team must be articulate, professional and most of all helpful when speaking with prospective students, discussing their career goals and suggesting colleges and universities that best fit their needs. Our call center is open 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm and we are hiring for all shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to inquiries from potential students by placing outbound quality assurance calls
- Verify and/or correct the contact information of these potential students
- Inform potential students of matching academic programs and schools in our network
- Make recommendations and answer any questions regarding schools and academic programs in a professional manner
- Periodically enter clear and precise notes using our customer relationship management (CRM) software
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in customer service or a call center environment a plus but not required
- Available to work 30 hours a week with availability for at least one weekend shift (6 hours)
- Intermediate computer skills with an ability to be trained on our customer relationship management (CRM) software
- Excellent verbal communication skills with an understanding of proper phone etiquette
- A fondness for talking on the phone and providing academic guidance
- A history of being punctual, responsible and reliable
- Motivated, detail-oriented and enthusiastic about his/her work
- Fluency in a second language such as Spanish a plus
- Location: Hoboken, NJ
- Compensation: $12 to $20/hour DOE
