About Us
We're an established 12-year old devops consulting company located in NYC that is stealthily spinning up a new venture. We're looking for an energetic freelance Graphic Designer for a 2-3 month part-time project who has a good sense of humor and can roll with some hardcore system admin geeks as we focus on creating a hardware and application monitoring web application with iOS/Android apps for phones and tablets. Your role, should you choose to accept it, will be to take our fugly wireframes and the type of functional html-mockups that only a 30-year old developer still living in his parent's basement could love, and to make them look amazing using various (insert trendy buzzwords here) web 2.0 styling and associated social media sharing tools.
About You
If you're aren't scared off by that intro, we're still looking for a Graphic Designer candidate who can not only talk-the-talk, but also develop graphics, icons, menus, and any other graphics required. We have a vision of how the application behaves, along with a User Experience Designer's wireframes and mockups, now we just need a Graphic Designer to translate our design concepts into a reality that evokes the same emotional look and feel we're going for.
Minimum Requirements
* Demonstrable portfolio of graphic designs for web and app environments, and ability to provide references to ensure your hard work receives the credit it deserves.
* Proficiency using professional design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks or whatever else works for you.
* Must be self-managed and able to work remotely.
* You must live in New York City (extra points if you live in Brooklyn)
Non-required Skills Experience (but worth mentioning otherwise we wouldn't have said it)
* Strong ability in visual design creation including graphics, icons and full scale mockups.
* Experience designing for tablets and mobile and/or small screen devices.
* Basic understanding of Web and mobile programming techniques.
* Understanding of Agile methodologies.
If you can take wireframes and translate those into HTML pages and accompanying CSS that is a HUGE plus!
