JOB SUMMARY:
The Telehealth Director will have global responsibility for developing Cyber-Sight's [www.Cybersight.org] strategy and business development. He/she is responsible for enhancing the telehealth platform that community providers can easily access in the developing world and for facilitating telehealth-enabled relationships. He/she will integrate Cyber-Sight with ORBIS's programs across the world. The Cyber-Sight Director will expand ORBIS's clinical, educational and monitoring initiatives while developing long-term relationships with physicians, telehealth-partnering hospitals, educators, IT Communication specialists. The Director will serve as a single point of contact for ORBIS's Cyber-Sight program and will facilitate education surrounding telehealth with global facilities.

The Director, Telehealth, Cyber-Sight reports to the Chief of Program, works closely with the ORBIS Management Team and will lead international cross-functional project teams.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
International Healthcare Telehealth strategy development
- Manage and evaluate the current telehealth activities ensuring that telehealth enhances ORBIS's mission, vision and philosophy of using technology to educate the developing world how to treat preventable blindness
- Collaborate with partners and contractors on expansion opportunities for telehealth, resources, policies/procedures, regulatory and legal issues related to clinical telehealth applications
- Work with external telehealth groups to take advantage of n ew developments in telehealth and ensure shared learning from the project
- Obtain accreditation for eLearning platform by identifying and partnering with university programs that endorse the ORBIS curriculum
- Develop a Cyber-Sight Advisory Board
Information technology
- Identify and evaluate the technology required to develop a world-class knowledge center
- Demonstrate the use of telehealth technologies with ease and confidence
- Make decisions concerning telecommunications equipment and carrier services
- Source and identify consultants required for IT and web re-design
- Play a key role in leveraging technology to develop an electronic medical records system to facilitate monitoring and evaluation
Fiscal Management< /span>
- Effectively use financial information for strategic and operational decision making
- Prepares annual Cyber-Sight budgets for capital equipment, personnel, supplies, and other costs and monitor expenditures
- Develop cost/benefit analysis and monitors project progress and goal attainment
- Identify opportunities for project funding and grants with Chief of Development
Operations and Implementation
- Integrate Cyber-Sight to create sustainable learning through Flying Eye Hospital ("FEH"), Hospital Based Programs ("HBP"), Country programs and Fellowship programs, developing relationships and links, and a communication system for the project
- Develop learning pre-requisites and incentives linked to FEH, HBP, Country Programs and Fellowship programs
- Assist in the data collection, evaluation, reporting, and performance improvement activities as they apply to telehealth
- Diversify eLearning courses and manuals to include a holistic choice topics including expertise in all of ORBIS's sight-saving methods, nursing techniques, bio-medical engineering and financial management
- Assemble and lead matrixed project teams to identify processes required to align Cyber-Sight to all of ORBIS programs
QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 10 years experience in telehealth, development of eLearning technologies, preferably in International Healthcare development
- Ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in Medical Informatics or in Health/Public Health (e.g. MPH, M.D. or PhD), or its equivalent in training, experience, and certification
- Knowledge in current technologies employed for telehealth applications, of web development, of computer and telecommunications hardware and software systems
- Solid track record using telehealth tools to implement a health learning program
- Previous international work experience in with developing countries highly desirable
- Exposure to a diverse, multi-cultural work environment preferred
- General understanding of Ophthalmology is a plus

- Establishes effective communication channels for all people involved in a given project or activity for maximum accountability
- Collaborates effectively with other telehealth personnel to ensure successful telehealth consultations
- Able to conduct 30% of international travel, including travel to developing countries
