Online Community Recruitment and Engagement Internship (Midtown)

Article One Partners (AOP) is the world's largest patent research community that uses crowdsourcing to help strengthen the quality of legitimate patents and reduce unjust patent monopolies.

AOP is initiating the Scholar's program, an internship program for eligible students and recent graduates to provide them with the opportunity to engage in the analysis, planning, and execution of the company's community recruitment and engagement initiatives. Using their formal education and employment experience, participants in the Scholars' program will work with AOP executives and department employees on a project basis to improve all aspects of AOP's researcher community growth and engagement. Scholars' responsibilities will include collecting and analysing data, drawing conclusions, developing actionable plans and strategies and participating as an AOP team member as they gain valuable experience. Follow-on internships and part/full-time employment are additional possibilities.
Program Details:

Start Date: June 2012
Duration: 10-12 weeks (June to September 2012)
Hours: 20 to 40 hours per week
Credits: AOP is open to credit-based internships

Responsibilities:
Recruitment
- University Outreach: develop strategic plans for recruitment in local universities (including on-boarding, engagement and quality)
- Linkedin: Business Plus (InMail) and Recruiter
- Affiliates: research potential organization in the US or abroad in line with AOP's affiliates program. Examples of such organizations are universities, technology clubs, and other scientific/technical communities.
Engagement
- User Engagement: Conduct targeted, structured outreach to inactive researchers as part of retroactive Welcome Kit outreach, strictly based on marketing to inactive researchers rather than answering questions from submitters.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. This individual is a "self-starter" and has the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Skills include:

Strong analytical skills -- understands and synthesizes complex or diverse information across a broad range of technologies and sciences.
Communication skills -- speaks clearly and persuasively. Writes clearly and succinctly.
Adaptability -- manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
Innovation -- meets challenges with resourcefulness; develops innovative approaches and ideas.
Education:
Degree in Business, Law or other related degrees with prospective graduation between 2012-2014
AOP Scholars program is also open to graduate students and recent graduates
