Seeking a Personal Office Assistant at our newly established branch office . The Office Assistant will provide administrative services support, community outreach, and reception duties in a two-person office. Duties will include recording and entering client data, composing brief reports, and helping to establish connections between program staff and the wider community including faith-based organizations, state offices, schools, and the business community. From time-to-time, the assistant may also provide supportive client services, e.g., transporting a client to a job interview or hospital.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with Limited English and french Speakers; strong connections with the Springfield area as a result of living and being active there, and the ability to have a flexible work schedule which will include late afternoon and/or evening hours. Graduate and part-time students in relevant majors are encouraged to apply.
Minimum Qualifications: BS/BA (or equivalent work experience); familiarity using a computer and Microsoft Office Suite software. Successful applicant must be able to develop quick rapport; work well with limited supervision and under stressful situations; have good knowledge of existing social services and other local support networks; and be familiar with issues that low income individuals must overcome to improve their self-sufficiency.
